The Invitation, Not Invasion, Launch Model
Imagine a master chef opening a new restaurant.
She does not just unlock the doors on a random Tuesday, stand on the sidewalk, and scream at people to come eat.
First, she sends personal notes to her closest friends for a private soft opening. Then, she hosts a tasting event. She shares the stories behind the ingredients, letting people sample the menu and experience the atmosphere. Finally, when everyone is raving about the food, she officially opens her doors to the public.
She does not demand attention. She orchestrates an experience.
The Hostage Negotiation Launch
The internet has lied to us about what a launch has to be.
When you hear the word "launch," you probably picture aggressive email sequences, fake countdown timers, and manufactured scarcity that makes your skin crawl. There is a strange assumption online that you have to manufacture panic to make a sale. But treating your readers like they are running out of time doesn't build loyalty. It just builds resentment.
You have spent months building a quiet, trusting relationship with your readers. You need a method that aligns with your brand of quiet confidence, not one that destroys it.
The truth is that an ethical launch is not a megaphone. It is a focused conversation. It is a brief period where you deliver immense value around a single topic, culminating in a natural offer to go deeper.
In order to keep my newsletter free and filled with helpful content, I include ads for products or services that I believe will be helpful to you. This is one product I use daily and LOVE. Beehiv makes it so easy to collaborate with sponsors and with other email owners. I can’t wait to hear about the latest releases and improvements!
What’s next is almost here.
On July 16th at 1PM ET, beehiiv is going live with a look at the future of publishing, audience growth, and digital business.
What started as a newsletter platform has evolved into something much bigger: a place where creators and brands can grow, monetize, and own their audiences without stitching together half the internet to make it work.
The next chapter starts live at the Summer Release Event.

Now back to this week’s content.
The 3-Phase Invitational Launch
You do not need to be loud to be effective. You just need a structure that builds anticipation and delivers value. Here is the exact framework to use for your next offer.
Phase 1: The Preview (1 week before)
This is your soft opening. You gently prime your audience. You send a short email letting them know you have been working on something special to help them solve a specific problem. You tell them you will be sharing more details next week. You are simply planting a seed.
Phase 2: The Value (Launch Week)
This is the tasting event. Deliver two or three pieces of your absolute best content directly related to the promise of your paid offer. Treat this like a free mini-workshop. Give them real, tangible wins that prove your expertise. Show them you can help them by actually helping them.
Phase 3: The Invitation (3 to 5 days)
Now, you open the doors. State clearly what your offer is, who it is for, and the transformation it provides. Frame it as the logical next step after the value you just delivered.
"Hospitality is present when something happens for you. It is absent when something happens to you."
The Legacy of Respect
This model honors the relationship you have built.
It treats your audience like intelligent adults. You are giving them the information and the value they need to make an informed decision, rather than pressuring them into an emotional one. You are inviting them into a transformation, not invading their inbox.
Your Next Step
Think about the paid offer you want to share with the world. Outline just one "value" email you could send during Phase 2 of your launch.
What is one piece of your paid framework that you can teach for free to build trust and desire?
Reply or comment and let me know. I personally reply to every email.
P.S. On Friday, we are going to zoom out. We will review the past several week’s journey and look ahead to what comes next, now that your message is forged and your connection is built. See you then.
